Oxford College’s Office Administration Dental and Medical program prepares you for a promising career in the healthcare field. Often the first people to interact with patients, dental and medical office administrators are vital members of healthcare teams.

As a dental and medical office administrator, you will greet people arriving at a dental or medical office, hospital, or other establishment. You’ll also direct visitors to the appropriate person or services, answer and forward telephone calls, take messages, schedule appointments, and perform other clerical duties. Graduates of this program will be ready to enter the professional world and deliver high-level client care.      

Students will
learn how to:

  • Develop both theoretical and practical skills, including computer applications, spreadsheets and databases, accounting and payroll, record management, dental/medical terminology, medical transcription and health billing, dental/medical office procedures, anatomy and physiology, oro-facial anatomy, clinical dentistry, and radiography combined with important human relations
  • How to use medical and dental billing software and practice management software
