COVID-19 Update:
We are excited to let you know that we are gradually opening our clinics across our campuses.
Our Massage Therapy students are looking forward to providing treatments to help with your anxiety, stress, muscle stiffness/soreness and general pain symptoms which we suspect may have been exasperated over the many weeks of self-isolation.
While we were closed, we used the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) guideline for Massage Therapy re-opening to guide Oxford College’s Massage Clinic reopen to ensure that our students can treat you, and you can be treated, in a safe environment.
All our new policies and procedures meet the standards described by local and national regulatory bodies.
Please note when booking an appointment online or over the phone, you will be asked to:
1. Arrive alone and only 5 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment time.
2. Wear a mask or face covering. If you do not have one, you can purchase one at the clinic.
3. Sanitize your hands upon entry into the clinic.
4. Leave all personal items locked in your car or at home.
5. Bring your own water bottle, pre-filled.
6. Be prepared to pay for your treatment using only credit or debit card.
7. Before arriving at the campus complete our Covid-19 pre-screening including an on-site temperature check.
At Oxford College’s Massage Therapy Clinic, students treat a variety of conditions as well as provide general massage to the public at discounted prices. The student Massage Therapists are instructed to focus on client assessment; performing special/orthopaedic, muscle strength, range of motion, myotome, and dermatome testing.
While working at the Massage Therapy Clinic, students learn how to treat overuse strains, sprains, sport, and nerve injuries, and can assist those with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis. We also train our students to provide pregnancy massage and have served the local hospice residents and their families for the past ten years.
The skills offered at the Massage Therapy Clinic have helped so many members of the public who have come through our clinic doors. The Massage Therapy Clinic has become an integral element for those wanting to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle within the community. Book an appointment today to receive the benefits of massage firsthand.
