At Oxford College, you can train to become a Dental Hygienist in as quickly as 18 months with our program. You will gain valuable knowledge on how to address the needs of a dental hygiene client and acquire the knowledge and skills to provide preventative and therapeutic dental hygiene services for individuals and communities. Our program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC).
As a Dental Hygienist, you would assess your client’s oral health needs and provide preventative and therapeutic care to address each client’s individualized needs. Dental Hygienists provide a wide range of preventative and therapeutic services that may include: stain removal, application of dental sealants, performing tooth whitening, and taking X-rays, among other duties. Educating patients and making oral hygiene recommendations is also an integral part of this role.

- Take dental impressions for the fabrication of mouthguards and whitening trays
- Apply sealants

Train in a State-of-the-Art Dental Laboratory and Dental Hygiene Clinic
The fully-outfitted dental laboratory will provide you with the chance to learn in facilities that are similar to what you will encounter when you enter the workforce. Training with actual equipment means you will already have bridged any potential knowledge gap when you pursue work at a Dental Clinic.
